Star NASCAR racer Bobby East was fatally stabbed last week at a California gas station by a homeless guy, and his killer is still at large as of Saturday, according to investigators.

According to The Sun, the three-time US Auto Club champion, 37, was stabbed in the chest on Wednesday while refueling at a station in Westminster, California. Despite the efforts of first responders, East passed away at a nearby trauma facility.

Who is Trent William Millsap?

Trent William Millsap, 27, is wanted by the local police after being named as a suspect in the stabbing of a stock car racer, according to the publication.
Six-foot-five-inch Millsap was characterized as a “transient and known to frequent Westminster, Garden Grove, and Anaheim motels” in a statement from the Westminster Police Department. Millsap is shown in photos given by the department as having tattoos all over his body, including his hands, arms, chest, face, and neck.

He is seen as being armed and dangerous, and the attack’s purpose is unclear.

East, a Torrance, California native who resided in Brownsburg, Indiana, amassed 56 victories in his USAC-sanctioned career, 48 of which came in national divisions.

In 2014, East won the USAC National Midgets championship, and in 2012 and 2013, he won back-to-back USAC Silver Crown titles.

In a statement, the USAC referred to Bobby East as “one of his era’s most prolific drivers.”

East was the son of Bob East, a vehicle builder in the USAC Hall of Fame.
