An ambitious 14-year-old rapper with “a million-dollar smile” was recalled on Monday after he was fatally stabbed during a fight at a Manhattan subway station.
Ethan Reyes, who went by the stage name “Notti Osama,” also received a tragic internet shout-out from his brother, DD Osama, a fellow upcoming drill rapper.
In an emotional Instagram post, the sibling said, “Like why did you abandon me?” Why do you say that dying is simple?

Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Reyes got into a fight with a 15-year-old competitor at the 137th Street/City College subway stop. Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital later pronounced Reyes dead. It’s unclear what the two were arguing about, but according to law enforcement sources, their argument had been ongoing.
At a candlelight memorial in Manhattan, a friend of Reyes remarked, “He had a million-dollar smile.” He was the party’s life and soul.
“I knew he was really motivated to be a rapper and that every single day he worked at it,” said the pal, who asked not to be named. “He was smart and had a bright future.”
Another friend who lives in Sugar Hill called Reyes “a good boy.”
“He was an upcoming drill rapper with over 10,000 views on YouTube,” said the 17-year-old pal, who also did not want to be identified. “My son Notti had it all.”
Police announced on Sunday that the 15-year-old accused murderer had been taken into custody and was now being charged.
He was treated for stab wounds at New York Presbyterian Hospital, apparently as a consequence of the altercation with Reyes, but police said his identity was withheld due to his age.
The victim’s friends have created a GoFundMe campaign with a $10,000 fundraising target to help pay for his funeral. By Monday afternoon, the page had raised more than $5,700.
Reyes’ family moved to Yonkers in May and previously lived in Harlem. Memorials for the teenager popped up at both locations after the fatal incident.
