Since 2013, Massachusetts’ senior senator has been Elizabeth Ann Warren (née Herring), an American politician and former law professor.

She was born on June 22, 1949. Progressive Democratic Party member Warren has prioritized social safety net, economic opportunity, and consumer protection while serving in the Senate.

In the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries, Warren ran for president and ultimately came in third.
